2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Washington D.C.
When you think of Volkswagen, what does the brand make? Very likely, your answer would be small or midsize cars, at least if you’re familiar with the automaker. VW has the Golf family, Passat and Jetta as its most popular options, and the Tiguan has long been a luxury-focused compact SUV that appeals to those who love Volkswagen for its European pedigree, but what about if you want a larger vehicle for your family? After decades in the industry, this German automaker is switching things up.
The all-new 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan is coming to Tampa FL drivers here at Kuhn Volkswagen, and it will now be available with third-row seating. It’s larger than the Tiguan we already know and love, making it a practical choice for families. If a third-row isn’t necessary, the model is still a smart option as it will have better cargo space than ever before. It’s being introduced in the same year as the new Atlas, and slots under this seven-seat SUV in terms of size, perhaps making it the ideal choice for activities.
Is your family into classic options, or do you prefer a pop of color? The all-new Tiguan will offer eight color options: Pure White, White Silver Metallic, Platinum Gray Metallic, Deep Black Pearl, Silk Blue Metallic, Dark Moss Green Metallic, Habanero Orange Metallic and Cardinal Red Metallic.
The Tiguan was due for a redesign, and it received one in a big way. From a wider wheelbase to more defined lines, it’s eye-catching in a way that remains subtle and refined. The interior receives equal upgrades with upscale materials and a thoughtful layout in a much roomier cabin.
The VW Tiguan has always offered all the latest in technology, and the upcoming model will be no different. Top options will include the 12.3-inch VW Digital Cockpit, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with VW Car-Net App-Connect and a whole host of driver assistance features.
Is the 2018 VW Tiguan right for you?
The 2018 model year brings some big changes to the Tiguan, so you may be wondering if it should top your list of potential SUVs. If you’re looking for more space than the current Tiguan, you might just find this is the answer. It gains 10.7 inches to its length, making it just roomy enough to add a third row, but also the perfect choice if you want more cargo space for sporting gear or the various luggage that comes with traveling with children. The 2018 Tiguan will have a total increase to cargo space of 57 percent, which is no small amount.
Interior space is one thing, but can the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan win you over with its driving style? The model will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers up to 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, while also paired with an impressive eight-speed automatic transmission. It comes standard as front-wheel drive, but will be available with the VW 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
So far the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan looks like it could be a winner, but you won’t really know if it’s right for you until you get behind the wheel. Contact us here at Karen Radley Volkswagen to find out more about availability.
