2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI Washington D.C.
If there’s any market where products are not one-size-fits-all, it’s the automotive world. Some shoppers want the biggest, roomiest vehicle, while others are looking for something low profile. Then there’s performance. When it comes to the Golf lineup, you can find a little bit of everything. The 2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI proves just that, as it offers just a touch more style above what the standard model offers, and a whole lot more when it comes time to put foot to pedal. The model will soon thrill Washington D.C. and NoVA drivers as it arrives here at Karen Radley Volkswagen.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI now offers just one engine option, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, but it now offers standard engine start/stop when paired with the six-speed DSG automatic transmission to help save some fuel when you aren’t able to slip through traffic. For those who prefer to drive a stick, the six-speed manual remains a standard option.

Find your happy place in the Golf GTI
We won’t claim the 2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI is a supercar, but it is an iconic option for many. Known as the first hot hatch, the model has been a fan favorite for generations. Though it takes on many modern cues, features like Clark Plaid seats continue to remind enthusiasts of their fond memories behind the wheel.
But the Golf GTI doesn’t rely too heavily on the past. Instead, it offers easy appeal even to those new to the lineup, partially thanks to its performance specs (including performance brakes and the torque-sensing VAQ Limited-slip differential on the SE trim), but a host of modern features. Chief among them are now-standard LED taillights and DRLs, a 6.5-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and automatic headlights with rain sensor. Available features include LED headlights, an 8-inch center display, built-in navigation, Blind spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert, KESSY keyless access, and DCC suspension control.
