Will Volkswagen Sell the I.D. Buzz Concept?
Every year when auto show season rolls around, VW unveils exciting new concepts for us to look at. The only bad thing is that these models generally don’t get mass produced for consumers, so we never get the chance to actually get behind the wheel of these unique models.
Recently, Volkswagen unveiled the I.D. Buzz concept, leaving many to wonder if the company may sell the model in the future. Obviously it’s something we would love to see happen, but it probably isn’t likely, at least not in its exact concept form.
VW I.D. Buzz Concept Features and Specs
That being said, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen an electric I.D. concept. It also isn’t the first time in recent memory that we’ve seen an electric microbus concept either. With those things in mind, and considering the fact the the I.D. Buzz is meant to preview an electric future for the brand, it could hint at the potential for a similar production model in the future.
The specs and features for such a model would, of course, only be guesses. When it comes to the I.D. Buzz concept, however, we do know that it has an all-electric driving range of up to 270 miles, which is quite impressive for a microbus. Plus, although it is electric, it has all-wheel drive and can put out 369 horsepower. Inside, the vehicle features a unique 180-degree rotating driver’s seat, a head-up display that uses augmented reality and fully autonomous driving capability.
Whether or not Volkswagen sells the I.D. Buzz concept, the electric future of VW certainly seems bright. To stay on top of the latest news regarding VW’s electric capabilities, be sure to check back to the Karen Radley Volkswagen blog.
