Where and when will the VW I.D. BUZZ be made?
It’s no wonder that the model has been called the I.D. BUZZ. It sounds a bit like the word “bus,” while also showing recognition for how much buzz there is around its production. The reason, of course, is that the Microbus is iconic for the lineup. Unfortunately, it has been out of production for longer than it was ever in production due to regulations. By making an electric version, Volkswagen can create a new vehicle that more closely resembles the VW Microbus than any concept has to date. The only question is where and when the new VW I.D. BUZZ will be made.
Volkswagen to produce its first two EVs in the U.S.
The big news is that the VW I.D. BUZZ will be built in the U.S. Built alongside it will be the VW I.D. CROZZ, which is an all-new crossover. By building models in the U.S., VW is indicating that the vehicles are both slotted for mass production. You might recall that Volkswagen does currently have an electric vehicle in its lineup, the e-Golf. So why isn’t that widely available? Because it is built in Germany and has to be imported into the U.S. This serves as the perfect example of why it is such good news when a car is built in the country where it is to be sold.
The VW I.D. CROZZ and I.D. BUZZ are both expected to be sold in the 2022 model year. We may have some years to wait for them, but we think they’ll both be in high demand. Especially if charging stations become more widespread.
