The first quarter of 2016 has come to a close, and automakers have begun to compare sales figures. After all the numbers were crunched, Volkswagen emerged as the world’s best-selling automaker. How well are Volkswagens selling globally? The company saw sales growth in several significant markets.
Volkswagen Market Increases
The most significant jump in Volkswagen sales came in the critical China market. Sales in China grew by 6.4 percent. Other significant growth came in the Western European markets, where VW sales increased by 3.5 percent. Overall, Volkswagen sold 2.49 million vehicles from January to March. This is a 0.8 percent increase when compared to the first quarter of 2015.
