A Look at the Impressive 2020 Jetta GLI
The 2020 Volkswagen Jetta is just around the corner. With that said, it’s natural to see if it’s worth the price. That question is multi-faceted and depends a lot on what any given consumer looks for in a vehicle. Maybe the fuel economy needs to be top-notch. Perhaps reliability is the only thing that matters. Maybe the performance could take a hit so long as the vehicle looks good. All are valid options. Today we’ll look at one of those options: the performance specs and numbers of the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta GLI.
So, how fast is the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta GLI?
The GLI does 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds with the optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. It does the same sprint in 5.8 seconds with the standard 6-speed manual transmission. This is thanks to the brilliant 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that pumps out 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Combined with a tuned suspension and complimentary performance tires, the GLI excels. The steering provides great feedback. With strong brakes and a comfy ride, the 2020 GLI is a joy to drive.
Trims and Features
The 2020 Jetta GLI comes in two trims, the S ($27,165) and the Autobahn ($30,865). While the Jetta GLI S is cheaper, the Autobahn is the better option. It includes the enhanced audio system, fully digital gauge cluster, a larger touchscreen, leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, and vented front seats. It has two exclusive features: wireless charging for smartphones and adaptive dampers. The adaptive dampers make the choice. They let the ride feel luxurious but still handle like a sports car.
