Where and when will the VW I.D. BUZZ be made?
It’s no wonder that the model has been called the I.D. BUZZ. It sounds a bit like the word “bus,” while also showing recognition for how much buzz there is around its production. The reason, of course, is that the Microbus is iconic for the lineup. Unfortunately, it has been out of production for longer than it was ever in production due to regulations. By making an electric version, Volkswagen can create a new vehicle that more closely resembles the VW Microbus than any concept has to date. The only question is where and when the new VW I.D. BUZZ will be made. (more…)
What is the Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak?
Volkswagen isn’t an automaker that is one to shy from a challenge, but there’s one race the brand hasn’t participated in for decades: the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Taking place in Colorado Springs, CO, this event isn’t a regular race. Instead, participating brands are challenged to make the fastest time while climbing 4,720 feet. Does your current car seem to struggle up steep hills? Then imagine this. It isn’t so much about racing others, as simply achieving a goal. Many participants fail to even make it to the end. This is why the Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak supercar is such an important announcement for the brand’s motorsports division. VW it out to prove not only that it can break a record, but also that EV technology has advanced quite a lot in the last few years. (more…)

New images of the VW I.D. CROZZ at Frankfurt Motor Show
If VW has made one thing clear in 2017, it’s that the future of the brand is going to be electrified. We expect to see hybrid models and electric cars rolling out within the next eight years, and with them will come plenty of advanced technology. VW has notably been absent when it comes to SUV options until now, with the introduction of the all-new Tiguan and the VW Atlas, but the I.D. CROZZ concept shows that Volkswagen is not only planning on introducing better electric cars, but a whole range of options. With the International Motor Show (IAA) hosted over in Frankfurt now taking place, we’re seeing new images of the concept crossover. (more…)
When is VW bringing back the Microbus?
When it comes to the VW lineup, we all seem to want what we can’t have. The Beetle remains an icon for many drivers, but the truly missed vehicle is the T2, also known as the Microbus. It was a favorite for surfers, hippies and anyone who just wanted a home away from home, and it sadly went out of production and couldn’t be brought back because it simply can’t meet modern regulations. Fortunately for those who have shed a single tear at its memory, the flood gates can be closed right back up. The VW I.D. Buzz has been announced as a future production vehicle. So when is VW bringing back the Microbus? As early as 2022. (more…)
