2018 NYIAS VW Atlas Tanoak concept pickup truck
Up until this year, Volkswagen was a brand known exclusively for its small, but high-quality models. That’s changed with the larger VW Atlas and VW Tiguan, but the brand is noticeably missing from a segment that is near and dear to hearts of many Americans: The pickup truck. We’d like to say that’s all about to change with the introduction of the VW Atlas Tanoak at the 2018 NYIAS, but that depends on you. At this time, the model is merely a concept as VW gauges whether consumers are interested in the German automaker throwing its hat into the ring. (more…)
Volkswagen I.D. VIZZION Level 5 Autonomous Driving
A few weeks ago, Volkswagen revealed that the I.D. VIZZION would be shown at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show. Well, now is the time for more than just design sketches. The automaker has provided complete details of its vision for the concept vehicle, and it’s ambition. We’re not only talking Level 5 autonomous driving, where passengers have no control over the vehicle, but biometric scanning and even A.I. (more…)
New images of the VW I.D. CROZZ at Frankfurt Motor Show
If VW has made one thing clear in 2017, it’s that the future of the brand is going to be electrified. We expect to see hybrid models and electric cars rolling out within the next eight years, and with them will come plenty of advanced technology. VW has notably been absent when it comes to SUV options until now, with the introduction of the all-new Tiguan and the VW Atlas, but the I.D. CROZZ concept shows that Volkswagen is not only planning on introducing better electric cars, but a whole range of options. With the International Motor Show (IAA) hosted over in Frankfurt now taking place, we’re seeing new images of the concept crossover. (more…)
When is VW bringing back the Microbus?
When it comes to the VW lineup, we all seem to want what we can’t have. The Beetle remains an icon for many drivers, but the truly missed vehicle is the T2, also known as the Microbus. It was a favorite for surfers, hippies and anyone who just wanted a home away from home, and it sadly went out of production and couldn’t be brought back because it simply can’t meet modern regulations. Fortunately for those who have shed a single tear at its memory, the flood gates can be closed right back up. The VW I.D. Buzz has been announced as a future production vehicle. So when is VW bringing back the Microbus? As early as 2022. (more…)
August 23 World Premiere VW T-Roc
If the T-Roc name sounds familiar, it’s because it’s not a new concept from Volkswagen. It was three years ago, at the Geneva Auto Show, that a world premiere was announced. But that was a premiere as a concept car. Now it sounds like the model will go into production. We won’t know for sure until August 23, which has been announced as the new world premiere of the VW T-Roc, but it sounds like the model could become a reality. Though not necessarily for us here in the U.S. (more…)
What is the Volkswagen I.D. CROZZ concept?
If you look back on cars that are even 10 years old, they don’t look as fresh and new in design or features as what we expect today. Fuel economy, too, has changed quite a bit. In order for automakers to stay relevant, they must adapt. For today, that means transitioning over to new powertrain options. We don’t just mean turbocharging or looking into hybrid technology anymore, but a strong emphasis on making electric vehicles practical for everyday driving. Which is why Volkswagen is creating a number of I.D. concept models, including the new I.D. CROZZ. So what is the Volkswagen I.D. CROZZ concept? (more…)
Will Volkswagen Sell the I.D. Buzz Concept?
Every year when auto show season rolls around, VW unveils exciting new concepts for us to look at. The only bad thing is that these models generally don’t get mass produced for consumers, so we never get the chance to actually get behind the wheel of these unique models.
What is the Volkswagen Arteon?
You heard right. Volkswagen has announced that it will be removing the CC model from it’s lineup. But, fear not. The German automaker has plans to replace the CC with a brand new four-door coupe. Named the Arteon, it was reported by Autocar that the new coupe will feature a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and will be available in front- and all-wheel drive. We like what we hear! (more…)

Volkswagen Tiguan GTE Active Concept Design
When you explore the Volkswagen model lineup, you will find no shortage of German-engineered precision, turbocharged powertrains, frugal fuel economy and refined interiors. These elements are hallmarks of the Volkswagen brand and have gone a long way towards making Volkswagen a cornerstone of the automotive industry. With that being said, a true off-road-ready option has been lacking.
With the debut of the Volkswagen Tiguan GTE Active Concept design, Volkswagen engineers have found a way to combine all of the signature Volkswagen elements. Based on an already impressive 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan design, the new hybrid concept promises plenty of off-road thrills. (more…)
