2.0-liter Turbocharged 4-Cylinder – This is the standard engine in many of the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas trim levels. It delivers an impressive 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels or to all of them when choosing the available 4MOTION® with Active Control all-wheel-drive system. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. 

3.6-liter V6 – This is the most powerful engine available in the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas crossover SUV. Choosing this V6 will give you an incredible 276 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION® with Active Control all-wheel-drive system is available.  

2021 Volkswagen Atlas Tow Rating 

2.0-liter Turbocharged 4-Cylinder Tow Rating = 2,000 lbs. 

3.6-liter V6 Tow Rating = 5,000 lbs.
