2017 VW Golf SportWagen Alltrack Release Date and Design
It always seems like designers at Volkswagen are constantly coming up with new ways to provide a more thrilling ride with German-engineering as a focus. This year, they improved on the award-winning Volkswagen Golf model lineup with the addition of the family-friendly and fun-to-drive 2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen. By adding incredible amounts of cargo and passenger space to the already efficient and successful Golf platform, the SportWagen has become an instant favorite of Woodbridge, VA drivers. To further amplify the appeal and versatility of the Golf platform, Volkswagen designers have announced the upcoming arrival of the all-wheel drive 2017 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen Alltrack. Delve deeper into this incredible new Volkswagen model with our overview of the 2017 VW Golf SportWagen Alltrack release date and design.
Scheduled to begin production and be released in 2016, the Golf SportWagen Alltrack will be a part of the 2017 Volkswagen model year. Equipped with the same engine options as the current Golf SportWagen you can anticipate a thrilling driving experience that delivers exceptional fuel economy ratings. Behind the wheel of the Alltrack, you will have your choice between an exciting 170-horsepower 1.8-liter turbo-four or a fuel-efficient 2.0-liter TDI Clean Diesel four-cylinder. While some things remain the same, there will be some changes to the design of the 2017 VW Golf SportWagen Alltrack.
The first and biggest change that the SportWagen Alltrack has to offer is all-wheel drive capability provided by the innovative 4MOTION All-Wheel Drive system. Along with this new performance element, the Alltrack will feature an inch higher ground clearance for when the roads get a little rough. This design difference is accompanied by new wheelarch moldings, flared side sills, a new bumper designs as well as a more refined and luxurious interior that we can’t wait to see.
4MOTION All-Wheel Drive System
One of our favorite elements of the new 2017 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen Alltrack design is the integration of the innovative 4MOTION All-Wheel Drive system. 4MOTION all-wheel drive employs a Haldex-5 coupling that will promote fuel economy on the roads with front-wheel drive and will redirect up to 50 percent of torque to the rear when it senses loss of traction. This incredible all-wheel drive technology has the capability to transfer torque from front to rear and side to side, optimizing traction and providing the driving dynamics of a crossover with the fuel economy of a compact wagon.
